The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is considered to be an entry qualification for people looking to assess learners on accredited courses. Most training centres would expect that you have this assessor qualification at the very least before you start assessing in the FE and HE sectors. This is Regulated Qualifications Framework RQF qualification formerly known as A1 Assessor course and it was replaced by the current suite of qualifications, which are commonly referred to as TAQA (Training Assessment and Quality Assurance).You are not required to have any prior qualification or experience to start this level 3 course.
